Vehicle Brands [Your Brand] Works On

Particular depth of experience with VW Group, BMW, Ford and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, alongside most other makes and models, cars and vans alike.

Dealer-level software

ODIS access for the VW Group range, not a third-party workaround.

How coverage works

Why Some Brands Get Deeper Coverage Than Others

Key cutting and programming equipment varies by manufacturer, which is why depth of coverage isn’t identical across every brand. Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Škoda share much of the same underlying electronics and security platform as part of the Volkswagen Group, so [Owner]’s access to ODIS, Volkswagen’s own dealer-level diagnostic and programming software, covers all four. BMW and Ford are supported through Autel, Xhorse and ACDP equipment.

Modern vehicle security systems are built to standards set by bodies such as Thatcham Research, and understanding how those systems communicate with a key is central to diagnosing faults correctly, whichever brand is involved.

Vehicle Brands, In Detail

Seven brands with dedicated pages below. Driving something else? [Owner] covers most other makes and models too; get in touch to check.

Volkswagen

One of the makes [Owner] covers most often, using Volkswagen’s own ODIS dealer-level software for key programming and diagnostics rather than a third-party workaround.

Recent example: [describe one of your own Volkswagen jobs, e.g. what the fault was and how it was fixed on-site].

Audi

As part of the Volkswagen Group, Audi shares much of the same underlying electronics and security platform as VW, SEAT and Škoda.

That means the same ODIS-based programming and diagnostic access used across the wider VW Group applies here too, for key cutting, programming and fault diagnosis.

SEAT

SEAT shares its underlying electronics and security architecture with the rest of the Volkswagen Group.

The same ODIS-based programming and diagnostic access used for VW and Škoda covers SEAT models too, rather than relying on a generic universal tool.

Škoda

Škoda’s ODIS software gives [Owner] dealer-level access for key programming, matching what a franchised dealer would use.

Recent example: [describe one of your own Škoda jobs, e.g. what the fault was and how it was fixed on-site].

BMW

One of [Owner]’s most frequent makes, covered using Smart Pro, Autel, Xhorse and ACDP equipment for key cutting, programming and lock diagnostics.

That combination covers most current BMW models for lost keys, spare keys and programming faults.

Also see: Lost car keys

Ford

Ford key and lock work is covered using the same combination of programming and diagnostic equipment carried for other makes.

That includes most current petrol, diesel and hybrid Ford models, cars and vans alike.

Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz’s electronic steering lock and immobiliser systems are diagnosed before any parts are replaced, rather than defaulting to a straight swap.

Recent example: [describe one of your own Mercedes-Benz jobs, e.g. what the fault was and how it was fixed on-site].

Vans & commercial vehicles

Transit, Transporter, Sprinter and most other commercial vans are covered with the same equipment and approach as cars.

Yes. The brands above have dedicated pages, but [Owner] covers most other makes and models too. Share your registration to confirm before he attends.

Yes. Each manufacturer uses its own key and immobiliser system, which is why the equipment (ODIS for the VW Group, Smart Pro, Autel, Xhorse or ACDP for others) is chosen for the vehicle.

Yes. Ford, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz vans are covered with the same equipment and approach as cars.

Not usually. On most vehicles a new key can be cut and programmed without an original, although having a working key can make the job quicker.
